Welcome to Dudley Homes
Social Housing is in very short supply so we are looking again at our policy to ensure that when we are making decisions about who should be allocated a home, the households in most need are prioritised.
Important Information for existing Dudley MBC tenants.
We are only accepting applications for transfers from existing Dudley MBC tenants where there is a recognised housing need.
Frequently asked questions;
Q. What if I am wating for my home to be repaired?
Outstanding repairs issues are not recognised as a housing need unless they create a hazard which cannot be repaired. Should your home be in need of repair it is important that you report the issue as soon as possible on your MyDudley portal or by calling 0300 555 8283.
Q. What if I am experiencing Anti-Social Behaviour?
Anti-social behaviour (ASB) is defined in law as ‘behaviour by a person which causes, or is likely to cause, harassment, alarm or distress to persons not of the same household as the person’. If you are experiencing this type of behaviour you can contact Dudley Council Plus on 0300 555 2345. If it relates to a criminal matter you should report it by contacting 101 or 999.
We understand that ASB can be distressing, but only in very few cases will a transfer be the most appropriate course of action.
If you feel your life is in danger or you are experiencing Domestic Abuse you should contact the police where appropriate on 101 or 999 and our Homelessness Team for advice on 0300 555 2345 if you cannot remain in your home.
Q. What if my home is not suitable for me any longer due a health condition?
Applications for transfer will only be accepted if it is no longer reasonable for you to continue to occupy your home and it cannot be adapted.
Q. What if I am overcrowded?
Applicants whose homes are severely overcrowded will still be considered for transfer.
If you consider that your situation meets the criteria then please continue to complete an application form online and upload any supporting evidence that is requested of you. If you fail to provide the information to support your application it will be closed.
By applying to move you are consenting to your Community Housing Officer visiting your home to conduct a Home Review and consenting to them taking photographs of your home and its condition so that a decision can be made on your application.
Should you have any further questions please contact Housing Options on 01384 817760.
Dudley Homes is the portal for residents looking for social housing in the Dudley borough. We advertise properties for rent from Dudley Council and other registered social landlords.
This website is for:
- applying to join the housing register
- assessing homelessness
- telling us about your current housing situation including any related needs
- uploading supporting information

- searching for and placing bids on available properties
It is the responsibility of applicants to ensure their Dudley Homes application is updated with any changes to circumstances/information. Failure to provide/update your latest information may result in you being bypassed for accommodation.
Homelessness
If you are homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless within the next 7 days, you should ring 0300 555 2345 for advice and support.
Please visit the Dudley website for further information
We receive many more housing applications each week than there are homes available. We have a duty to ensure that we help those in most need in line with our Housing Allocations Policy and it is often necessary for people to consider other Housing Options.
